The short fiction film SIMONE EST PARTIE by Mathilde Chavanne (F).And the cinematic experimental short THE VANDAL by Eddie Alcazar, co-produced by Darren Aronofsky (USA).
Short films screened by the Quinzaine but not part of the Festival Scope selection include SYCORAX by Lois Patiño and Matías Piñeiro (ES/P) and the new film by Peter Tscherkassky TRAIN AGAIN (A).
The 7 short films are available for free everywhere until August 4 – with a few territorial exceptions – but the number of ‘tickets’ is limited, as usual with Festival Scope.
Created in 1969 by the SRF (Société des Réalisateurs de Films), the Quinzaine des Réalisateurs/Directors’ Fortnight is a parallel event to the Cannes Film Festival with its own selection but no competition. A distinctive feature is its non-competitive aspect and its ambition to make innovative auteur cinema accessible to non-professional viewers.
