At the beginning of April, the office of the Short Film Conference (SFC) announced the results of the elections to the Board of Directors. The Board of Directors consists of 12 people from as many countries.

The first Chairman is the British film critic Laurence Boyce, who also works as programme director of the PÖFF Shorts in Tallinn. Secretary is curator John Canciani, Artistic Director of the International Short Film Festival Winterthur. Gina Dellabarca is the deputy chairwoman of the New Zealand tour festival Show Me Shorts. Treasurer is Vincent Langouche, programme director of the Leuven International Short Film Festival in Belgium. Other members of the board include Mohammad Fahimi (Tehran Short Film Festival), Joana Fresu de Azevedo (Sedicorto, Italy), Jaime E. Manrique (Bogoshorts, Colombia), Aneta Ozorek (KLIK Amsterdam Animation Festival), Tim Redford (Clermont-Ferrand Short Film Festival), Marie-Elaine Riou (Festival REGARD, Saguenay, Que).

The Leuven office will continue to be managed by Niels Putman (Managing Director), who is also editor of the magazine Kortfilm.be.

The Short Film Conference was founded in 1970 as a non-profit association to promote short film and the worldwide networking of the short film scene. The general meeting takes place annually in Clermont-Ferrand. In February there was also a conference programme with topics such as value creation, short film agencies and fake festivals. There are also occasional informal meetings at member festivals. The SFC has developed a Code of Ethics for short film festivals.
