The DFFB focuses its training on the fundamental areas of filmmaking: screenwriting, directing, cinematography, and production. A total of 34 students are admitted each year. The DFFB places particular emphasis on students developing their own distinctive style within their respective fields of study. An important aspect of the students’ education is striking a balance between teaching the artistic dimensions of filmmaking and fostering an understanding of the economic and technical production conditions dictated by the market.
