Berlin University of the Arts / Experimental Media Design
The development of audiovisual media gives rise to new forms of artistic expression. Especially the relatively young time-based media of film, video and computer open up possibilities which are by no means exhausted so far.
Course of studies
Teaching of these subjects and their combination are central to the course of study “Experimental Media Design”, which is about word-imaging and the dramatic experimental use of moving pictures and the design of multimedia or interactive systems. Teaching takes place in specialist subject classes in the form of projects, the choice of which mirrors the complexity and versatility of this subject. A unique innovative atmosphere to study in ensures new artistic perspectives, supported by traditional artistic training in classes and the not just spatial proximity to the Fine Arts.
After the completion of the course of studies the prospects range from free art to media design.
Completion of Stage I Studies at the Berliner University of the Art and basic training in contemporary media is required for admission to this course that was founded in 1998.
