dffb - Deutsche Film- und Fernsehakademie Berlin
Am 17. September 1966 eröffnete der Regierende Bürgermeister Willy Brandt die erste Filmakademie der Bundesrepublik Deutschland. Die Dokumentar- und "Arbeiterfilme" der 70er Jahre brachten der dffb zunehmend Anerkennung. Sie begründen den Ruf der politisch und sozial engagierten „Berliner Schule“. Parallel zu Entpolitisierung und Individualisierung der Gesellschaft verlagerte sich in den 80ern das Interesse auf den narrativen Spielfilm, wobei der Dokumentarfilm weiterhin eine wichtige Rolle spielt.Unter Leitung von Reinhard Hauff wurden seit 1993 die Ausbildung stärker professionalisiert und die Kooperation mit Fernsehanstalten, Filmproduzenten und Verleihern erweitert. StudiengängeJedes Jahr vergibt die dffb zwölf Studienplätze für Regie, sechs für Kamera und sechs für Produktion. Jeder dieser Studiengänge hat eine Regelstudienzeit von vier Jahren.Im zweijährigen Grundstudium Generale absolvieren alle Studenten ein festes, obligatorisches Programm. Systematisch aufgebaute Kurse führen in alle Sparten und Techniken des Filmemachens ein. Sie vermitteln Kenntnisse in Filmgeschichte, -ästhetik und -analyse, Dramaturgie und Drehbuch, Regie-, Schauspiel- und Kameraführung, Ton, Montage, digitale Technologie und Produktionsorganisation. Praktische Film- und Videoübungen, bei denen die Studenten in wechselnden Rollen agieren, stehen im Mittelpunkt der Ausbildung.Neu im Studienjahr 2005/2006: Postgraduales Studium Regie/Kamera und Produktion.Kontakt

The Kunsthochschule für Medien Köln (Academy of Media Arts Cologne) is the only arts college in Germany devoted to all forms of audio-visual media.
Courses of StudyStudents at the Academy of Media Arts in Cologne can undertake a course of study in "Audio-Visual Media" either as an eight-semester undergraduate programme or in the form of a four-semester postgraduate or further education programme. During these studies, high priority is given to experimental, creative work as a way of achieving practical skills in media technology, while students also acquire historical and theoretical knowledge of audio-visual media.
Depending on their desired focus, students can choose and combine courses from the following four key areas: television/film, media design, media art, and art and media studies.

Each year a total of around 70 short films and videos are created at the college, many of which are chosen for participation in German and international festivals and film events, picking up numerous awards and honours along the way. Some productions also reach viewers via television or are shown in galleries as installations, and sometimes a student's short film even finds its way onto the cinema screen.

The Film and Television Academy (HFF) "Konrad Wolf" in Potsdam-Babelsberg is the only art college in the federal state of Brandenburg and the oldest and largest of the five media colleges in Germany. It was founded in 1954 as the German College for Cinematic Art.
